Masoor Dal with Methi -- Another of my Comfort Dals Boil masoor dal with haldi and salt Heat a little oil and temper with one heaped tsp methi seed. When seeds start browning and aroma rises, remove more than half from the oil and add sliced onions -- from half to a full onion depending on amount of dal. Fry till onion become soft and glassy. Add dal and let it cook for a while. Take off fire with generous ghee, green chillies and lots of fresh coriander.
