Match Report - Monday Night League Kyles Elite 6 2 - 3 M.O.Z.F. for all other reports go to super6s.co.uk KYLES ELITE 6 came unstuck for the first time this season after they tasted defeat against MURDER ON ZIDANES FLOOR. Elite sat top prior to kick off, but now slip into third (behind the top two on goal difference) after they were beaten 3-2. It was an entertaining game that had lots of chances and late drama! Man of the match Ryan (MOZF) who had an outstanding match was quickly involved in the action. He picked up the ball centrally in the first minute and ran straight at the Elite defence, before shifting the ball to Ellis W (MOZF) who brought out a good save from Elite keeper Kev. He did exceptionally well to tip away Ellis Ws shot, before Elites leading scorer Banny tried his luck from distance at the other end. After his scintillating performance last week you couldnt blame him for taking on the shot that was deflected just wide. Ryan was then the architect of his teams opening goal. He played a perfect chipped pass over the Elite defence and MOZF defender Tom met it with a sweetly struck, left footed shot that found the far corner. It was a lovely move and finish and was almost followed up by another MOZF goal when Radders (MOZF) displayed his lightening pace down the right and crossed to Ryan who then skipped inside of his marker and unleashed a good shot, however once again Kev was there to keep it out. He pulled off a wonderful fingertip save to his left! Elite captain Kyle then tested MOZF stand in keeper Luke with a shot from distance that he was equal to and Jacko (Elite) had a shot saved after he latched onto a defensive error, before Ben raced through for Elite and drew the scores level with a composed, left footed finish. Elite were strong leading up to half-time and could have gone into the interval leading, however Ferret (Elite) saw his shot blocked by Chris (MOZF) and Banny put a header wide (from Ferrets corner), before Kyle met Ferrets pass and let fly with a curling effort on the stroke of half-time that clipped the outside of Lukes crossbar! Kyle then opened up MOZF early in the second half when he showed great vision to unlock MOZF with a defence splitting pass and set Banny free (one on one with the keeper), but he put his shot wide. It was a massive chance to put his team ahead. Ben then found Ferret who nipped through on the overlap, but his shot hit the side netting, before Banny once again put a one on one opportunity wide. It was a frustrating game for the Elite striker whose night was about to deteriorate rapidly, however MOZF star player Ryans night was about to get a lot better, but not before he had presented Elite with a golden opportunity to take the lead. Firstly Radders saw his shot tipped onto the crossbar by Kev (who made some fantastic saves) before Ryan then had his head in his hands when his back pass landed to Ferret who made it 2-1 with six minutes left on the clock, however the drama was just beginning! MOZF debutant Kieran then latched onto a bad back pass by Elite and was fouled which resulted in MOZF being awarded a penalty. Ryan showed his character, dusted himself off and made it 2-2 from the spot with just two minutes remaining. At this point Banny was sin binned for descent, leaving Elite a player light during the closing stages and MOZF took full advantage through that man Ryan who capped off an amazing personal display with his second goal and MOZFs third a minute later! This game demonstrated just how quickly football can change! Banny was on a crest of a wave last week and star man yet this week he had a bad night at the office, whereas Ryan looked to have gifted the opposition all three points until he became the hero and turned this game on its head! Football is one big roller-coaster ride! It was a fantastic game and Murder on Zidanes floor (who have registered back to back wins for the first time this season) will be hoping to build on this excellent performance when they take on Vagabond United next, whereas Kyles Elite 6 have to forget this result and get focused for their clash against new leaders Shetland next week.
