Matthew 5:24 First go and be reconciled to your brother. ....... The world seeks forgiveness on a limited basis, but Christians are to be forgiven, whatever it takes. But you say, You just dont know how deeply that person hurt me, so it is unreasonable to ask me to forgive that person! Jesus did not include an exception clause for us to forgive. Jesus did say, If he is your enemy, love him...If he persecutes you, pray for him. The world teaches to Assert yourself. Jesus taught, Deny yourself. Men spat upon Jesus and nailed Him to a cross. His response was our model; Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. If there was ever a command that is constantly disobeyed, it is this one about forgiveness. We take comfort with ourselves with the thought, God knows that I tried to make it right, but my enemy refused. Gods word does not say Try to be forgiven, but Be forgiven. Is there someone with whom you need to make peace? Not forgiving someone is like you drinking rat poison every day expecting the other person to die! When you truly forgive a person, you will set a prisoner free...That prisoner is you! May your weekend be blessed and safe my friends~
