Matthew 7:24-27 talks about Jesus parable of the two house builders. Both men built houses that seemed to be the same. The houses of Christians and unbelievers also appear the same. The difference is the foundation. What foundation are you building on? The wise man builds his house on a rock. For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. (1 Corinthians 3:11) The storms that we face in this life look forward to the day of judgment. Everyones house will be tested, but whose house will stand? The house built by the foolish man was completely destroyed, but the house built by the wise man passed the test because the wise builder built his house on a firm foundation. THE GOOD NEWS: Build your life on Jesus—the storms of life cannot harm you if you belong to Jesus. The Parable of the two builders comes at the end of the Sermon on the Mount to remind us that our whole life belongs to Jesus.
