May 11, 2002 to August 18, 2014 U-CD, UAGII, AKC CH Silberkinder Miss Moneypenny CDX, RA, SH, MX, MXB, MXJ, MJB, OAP, OJP, OF, CA, NSD, NRD, VX2, NAVHDA NA Prize II. Working therapy dog (TDI) from the time she was old enough to do it until she retired at 8 years old. Most Excellent hunt test bye dog at all levels, and wonderful field mentor for many little pointing dogs over the years. Emmie was always completely owner handled by me, but in spite of that, still managed to be my first show Champion (out of bred-by), my first Senior Hunter, my first Master level agility dog, my first Versatile Excellent dog, my first NAVHDA prizing dog, my first Rally Obedience dog, and my first lure coursing dog. Above all else, she was my heart dog. When she showed at Eukanuba/AKC Nationals in 2005, although she did not win an award, she was the most titled dog there, out of all the breeds represented, not just the Weims. You can see her picture in the 2010 Edition of Weimaraner Ways in the Mating Games chapter. Ginny Alexander’s high opinion of her makes me smile. Emmie was born in our home on May 11, 2002, one of two females in a litter of 6 pups. She made it easy to pick the pick puppy. We had our ups and downs in the early years, and I made a ton of mistakes as I fumbled to learn with her, but we formed an incredibly close bond and I loved her with all my heart. Everyone that met Emmie loved her. She was the kindest and sweetest dog ever. So many people have shared fond memories of her. I enjoy revisiting them. In 2006 she gave me a litter of 10 beautiful little pups. She was such a good mother, loving and guarding her babies. She passed on her goodness and sweetness to all her babies. A little more than 4 years ago, I found a tumor in her mouth. Oral tumors are especially deadly, with most dogs living about 7 months with radiation alone and 1 to 2 years with surgery and radiation. We did both. I was hoping to get just one more year with her, and she greatly exceeded my expectations, staying for more than 4 years and continuing to do agility and lure coursing with me right up until last year. But in the end, the very radiation that helped save her, ended up taking her, as often happens. There will never be another Emmie. I’m going to miss her so much. No more reaching over and feeling her on the pillow next to me at night. No more happy greetings from her when I come home. I will still see her in her daughter Yanna that she gave me, even more so in her granddaughter Yetta, and in all her other wonderful grandchildren that still share my life, Until we meet again, run free my sweet baby Em. Bump birds and chase them, jump all the baby gates in heaven, hop on the chairs and walk on the counters, lap water out of puddles again, and chew bones again. Kiss your momma Shatze for me and wiggle that little butt for me when I get there.
