May 23,1990 I came home from cheerleading practice and the phone rang. It was my auntie Geraldine Cotton Richardson she said, Kisha your daddy just got shot in the head he died kisha. I called my boyfriend CH he had just got home he came back.We told my mom as she walked in the door She passed out. Vic was in college at Union. I had a banquet that night. ..I went but I dont remember. I participated all my Senior activities but remember few. I dont grieve for what was I grieve for what couldve been.I know men preyed upon me through the years because I had no father. They hurt me, raped me, exploited me, degraded me and I allowed them because I was on a quest for love in all the wrong places. Theres one thing I know about my daddys death 37 was too young to die. He never saw his grandcHild my sister in law was pregnant. He never saw any of us graduate. But you know what every day that I live I honor him and me and my father have a laugh. We laugh because He lives in me. And I am kicking addictions ass......I am staying out of D.O.C.......I am defeating all the men that hurt me through abstinence. ...... all of his children are in contact...... Yes we are all in Kentucky together daddy me and all my brothers. Daddy sorry I wasnt always the lady a father wants his daughter to be but I am so much the lady now daddy.I carry myself with class ok yes I still throw a good punch when necessary, sorry. All your grandbabies know all about you all of them. I think its time that I stop torturing myself though its not good for me daddy. You were so kind as to share that High blood pressure gene with me lol. So from now on I will celebrate you everyday but today I will celebrate my new cousin Marilyn Huffman birthday.Its Dwaine Cotton lady. Its her day. I have to let this go daddy.
