May Memo - May 9, 2014 Fantastic News! Stanford 10 Standardized Test Results Are In- Each year EBCCS students in Grades 2-8 are given the Stanford 10 Standardized test. The Stanford 10 is a comprehensive program, which takes a week to administer. It evaluates academic achievement as well as cognitive ability (IQ). It is a rigorous test, which is given not only in our Archdiocese, but to private, public, and Catholic schools throughout the United States. By participating in this assessment program, our students are compared to students not only in Massachusetts but to those across our nation. I am pleased to inform you that the majority of our students did very well, scoring above the national average. In addition, each grade as a group, scored in the upper national percentile range. Recently, the Assistant Superintendent of the Archdiocese told me how impressed he is with the education at our school and our test scores. We should all be proud of our students and their teachers. A copy of your child’s results will be sent home before the end of the school year. Missionary Childhood - During Lent our students were provided with mite boxes to collect change for the missions. I am pleased to announce that our students (through the collection of coins) raised $949! I thank Ms. Hughes for organizing this event. A check is on its way to the missions.
