May we you wish you all a Happy,Free and Prosperous New Year. 2015 is the 800th Anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta yet we live in one of only four countries that does not have a written Constitution that protects our individual rights as citizens. This has left us at the mercy of a coterie of political actors from a very small gene pool that simply do not get it This Constitutional deficit will come to the fore in this coming election in May. The First Past The Post System will return the most unrepresentative government in our recent modern history, everybody is now vying to hold the balance of power for their own narrow reasons, the SNP, the Liberal Democrats, UKIP and the Ulster Unionists. Never has the English voter been so ill used. The Libertarian Party is dedicated to Constitutional Reform on the Swiss Model, and for an exit from the EU. A Constitutional Convention needs to be called. Not a Whitehall fit up. Eighty per cent of the population when surveyed said they want a less overbearing nanny state. We have to appeal to that constituency, no matter how small we are as a party. Freedom matters. The NHS is now in a terminal spiral of insolvency. The Rose report states clearly that it is only the Doctors and Nurses that are keeping the edifice going. He reserves scathing criticism of the bloated bureaucracy. There must be an honest debate on the future of this dying institution. Patients before Public Sector Privilige This year is an exciting year for Libertarians, with the signing in March of the Constitution of the International Association of Libertarian Parties.
