Maybe youve already heard this news: the FDA is reiterating their stance against entertainment ultrasounds. I applaud them. But heres what you are not hearing from mainstream journalists because they have not looked into this issue in any real way and they are basically just rewording the FDAs own press releases. The benefits of any ultrasound in any pregnancy are very minimal. Almost 40 percent of ultrasound machines used in a medical setting are faulty. The majority of ultrasound technicians do not understand safety standards. Ultrasound exposure heats tissue and causes cavitation. The FDA has got that right. It is also known as an endocrine disruptor. And vibrating living tissue may disrupt the way brain cells are forming in the fetus. There is evidence that ultrasound is harmful. You dont even have to look very hard to find it. But too many people would lose too much money if we used the precautionary principle. What do I recommend? Lets all follow the advice of the Yale University M.D./Ph.D who may be the most knowledgeable scientist in America on this issue: he said in 2006 that we should be using the same caution with ultrasound as we use with X-rays. How many more children are going to be injured before anybody listens? m.theatlantic/health/archive/2014/12/fda-warning-stay-away-from-keepsake-ultrasounds/383816/
