Me and my mobile devices through the years: Two days ago, I did - TopicsExpress

Me and my mobile devices through the years: Two days ago, I did a welcome back to replace my stolen MTN line with a meagre N150 only. In 2001 when I procured the line, it cost me a whooping N15,000. Who do we thank for this transformation that we can see? On the flip side, my first mobile phone was a Sony Ericsson T9 which set me aback by N17, 000 back then. It was just a device for calling, receiving calls and sending SMS. I gave out the toy to the security man when I upgraded to a Nokia 6600 which set me aback by N58,000 in 2005. That device was a machine to say the least! After that I got a Motorola Razor in 2007 (cant remember the price) shortly after NYSC. I migrated to a palm top in 2008 after the Razor was stolen. That set me back by almost N100, 000 pieces of shekels. In 2010 I was attacked by armed robbers and they took my palm top. My kid brother got me a Nokia from Mexico thereafter. That was stolen in 2011 and I moved over to BlackBerry 6600 which set me back by 68,000 shekels. That was stolen in 2012 and was swiftly replaced with a 6610 blackberry. It was stolen sometimes in 2012 and was replaced with a Z10 at a cost of 88,000 pieces of shekels. That too was stolen last week Sunday at a pub in another unresolved phone theft. Today my Samsung Note 3 neo mobile phone set me aback by a whooping N96, 000 pieces of shekels. Why has the cost of a sim card gone done exponentially and the cost of modern gadgets gone up astronomically? What is the price of your sim card and first mobile phone?
