Med Update as promised...First, TY you so very, very much for the prayers, notes, calls, care pkgs., and all. here are the details thus far...Kenmore Mercy staff are superior!!! My Neuro, who, according to the recovery staff, was greeted with Thank you, Mikey, I love you when the old girl came to, did the job refused by two others and we hope it works. I saw the table where the roto root was done. An average sz. fourth grader would have found it a tight fit. I was to be lying face down on my more than abundant girls for an hour. Blessedly, I was out when three men and a boy probably flipped me onto it. I woke in Recovery to breath-taking pain...not from the back but from the upper arms and neck where I have PMR, that virulent second-cousin to Fibromyalghia. It was the kind of pain that causes one to shake. They were kind enough to drug me up! This was a noon to nine day. I was not groggy at all. In fact, it was after midnight before I went to sleep for the night. as old folks do, I was up to the john three times during the night and shocked not to feel pain from the incision. Have you seen the new thermometers? they simple run a gizmo across the forehead and down the side of the face...three seconds! But, as always, I digress. Today, my back feels a bit like it has been in a vice or hit by a 2x4...no incision pain whatsoever. It was a bigger pain in the posterior to endure all the lead up testing than to be spliced. This operation MUST work because Dr. Stoffman concludes that my back truly is inoperable in terms of the screws, spit, mortar and gorilla glue stuff. I cannot wait to see if it does!!! Thank you, too, to our amazing priest, Rev. Cathy Dempesy-Sims, and our dear friend, Rev. Jerre Faegin, for anointing and praying me into surgery. They are da best!!!!!!
