*****Media Release***** Kanawha County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, along with Kanawha County Metro 911 are providing resource assistance to Roane County. Roane County has experienced significant flooding today and has had to evacuate their 911 Center. Kanawha County is sending its Mobile Command Center and personnel to Roane County to assistant with the receiving of 911 calls. Commission President Kent Carper has had staff reach out to Delegate Bob Ashley of Roane County to offer further assistance with resources in response to the significant storm. “Kanawha County is willing to help our neighboring counties in any way that we can. We have offered additional resources to Delegate Ashley and will continue to assist Roane County in any way that we can,” stated Commission President Kent Carper. Emergency Management officials are continuing to monitor the weather in Kanawha County, as well as monitor local streams and rivers for potential flooding. Remember if you see high water, turn around, don’t drown. Do not drive through high water.
