Members of the Salinas Valley Business Women’s Network, THANK YOU for choosing Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley for your October “call to action.” We appreciate your generosity and thank each of you who brought gift cards and other items for us. Everything will be used to recognize and honor our volunteers who deliver meals throughout the Salinas Valley. These caring individuals donate their time, their vehicles, and their gas to deliver meals, smiles, hugs, handshakes and kind words. As one of our Salinas clients wrote us recently, “When I hear my door bell ring and the people who bring the boxes of food with smiles on their faces; it’s like God Himself sending His angels. Thank you!” If you know someone who could benefit from nutritious, home-delivered meals, please refer them to us. • We serve people 60 and older who can’t shop or cook for themselves. • Seniors of all income levels are eligible for meals. • We deliver meals in Salinas, in the rural areas of north and south Monterey County, and in the small cities of the Salinas Valley. If you have a couple of hours to spare, we’d love to have you volunteer for us. Details and the application are on our website.
