Memorial services for Jim Reif are today. Peace and strength to his fiancé, family, co-workers and friends today and every day going forward. Anyone who was here for Hurricane Charley will remember how he made that call in the best interest of our community. He saw a shift in the track that would bring Charley over our area and made the decision to air it even though it had not been acknowledged and approved for announcement by the Meteorological Society. That call gave those in our area a little bit of time to secure our homes and for some to get to shelters. Jim made a huge call and safeguarded so many. And this is just one action, one story. I was also fortunate enough to attend one of Jims Hurricane Awareness Seminars. He delivered with passion and humor and I still remember some of his tips and info even though it was 10 years ago! It was very helpful to so many over the years. I wonder if another will carry on Jims tradition of community service?? Well, thats my small memoir and tribute to Mr. Reif. Peace.
