Mga kapatid, I watched a video of Apollo Quiboloys preaching last night. Quiboloy claims to be the appointed Son of God, the second coming of Jesus Christ. From 1 Thessalonians to Revelation, weve been exhorted to watch out for false teachers and prophets. So I watched it with as discerning a mind as possible, and honestly ... I didnt even understand most of it. :S Pasikot–sikot, and he really doesnt explain himself very well. The rest was basic stuff. Nanghinayang ako kasi if his listeners were already impressed with his message, well, there are far more soul–satisfying preachings—if they only knew. Im not saying this because Im biased against Quiboloy; I really did try to listen to his message. But if I didnt know he was a false teacher, Id still be confused by his words. I can see, though, how if someone doesnt know their Bible, they could fall for his false teachings. I really thanked God for His Word, how it sprung into action to guard my mind and heart. Ganon pala when you know the Bible: You become blind ... to falsehood. :) But I must say, their choir was quite impressive. And did you notice, most of the female singers were beautiful, not a hair out of place? Sabi nga ni Ma, kind of creepy ... The rest of the service was pretty flawless. Well, Im curious to hear your thoughts, mga kapatid. Feel free to comment. The point is this: Since Jesus ascension, we are in an age of antichrists. So we should really feed ourselves with the truths of Gods Word, asking the Holy Spirit to shine upon our minds and hearts, so we can detect these false teachers. Because one day, the real Antichrist will be revealed. Will we be able to stand against his deceptions? (I dont encourage you, though, to keep watching false preachings—I merely watched to answer the questions of someone interested in Quiboloy. Didnt even finish it, because it didnt make sense.
