Mike Mize requested these photos that have been posted before: The first is of the Salado Creek bridge at Huff (between Southside and Pleasant Plains, Independence Co, AR) which collapsed in 1929 and the Salado Creek bridge farther down stream at Salado/Rosie (Independence Co, AR) which collapsed in 1958. The two bridges were built about the same time in post Civil War days and the same architectural style was used for both, so it is easy to mistake one for the other. There is still some controversy over why the one at Salado/Rosie collapsed. Officially, it was a flood that did it.
