Million March for Kashmir in London; What actually happened at Trafalgar Square? Raining plastic bottles on Bilawal was indecent and in bad taste and marred that moment of unity. Most British MPs who had collected at Trafalgar Square decided not to march to 10-Downing Street which they had initially agreed. But Bilawal was also wrongly advised to appear there without a prior political acceptance. This large crowd was not gathered by PPP; it was Barrister Sultan Mehmoods personal rapport with dozens of small Kashmiri groups, local councilors across UK and all political parties that lead to this large crowd at Trafalgar Square. Preparations were going on for this event for the past two months; Bilawal was never announced; since he is now full functioning Chairperson of PPP, his sudden appearance at stage created the impression as if it was a PPP affair and reactions were inevitable. Barrister Sultan should have restricted this to known Kashmiri leaders and if Pakistani Political Parties and their leadership had to be invited then secondary leaders of all parties should have been invited to represent them. Bilawals sudden last minute appearance was unwise, it looked like a smart clever move to hijack a national and Kashmiri cause for Bilawals leadership of PPP. Moral Lesson is that Bilawal should know that he is not necessarily a unifying force for Pakistanis, blaming Indians as some initially did or perhaps Asifa did was also wrong and in bad taste. Bilawal and his team have to work hard to produce consensus for his leadership. With good political pedal work he could have been a force-multiplier for Million March. But Politics is process of consensus making. He needs better and smart Advisers. Sycophants are never good advisers. He should learn from his critics.
