"Minister every day. Opportunities are all around you. Look for them. Ask the Lord to help you recognize them. You will find that most consist of small, sincere acts that help others become followers of Jesus Christ. As you strive to be worthy of the Spirit, you will recognize thoughts and feelings prompting you to minister. As you act on these promptings, you will receive more of them and your opportunities and ability to minister will increase and expand." (David L. Beck) While serving as a stake clerk I witnessed the importance and blessings of ministering. The stake presidency were all very successful men who were extremely busy with business, family, and their callings. Despite that, they found time every week to visit the members of the stake and minister to them in their homes. They would spend 8-12 hours at the church on Sundays, do interviews and presidency meetings for 2-4 hours on Tuesdays and make time to go out and do visits on Wednesdays. Lives were touched and hearts were open as they served the members one by one as the Savior did.
