Minutes of Cadishead Tenants and Residents Association held on 2nd September, 2013 at 7p.m. at Hamilton Davies House. 1. Present: Sheila Bannon (SB), Gary Corrigan (GC), Reita Sheehy (RS), Ashley Bannon (AB) Chris Wilson (CW), Vera and John Chamberlain (V & JC), PCSO Phil Elliott 2. Apologies: Jane Howe & Tom Anderson- City West, Lynne Cropley 3. Minutes of the Last Meeting: Approved by RS and VC 4 Matters Arising: 4.1 JH has now sent me a contact number to telephone Dennis Parr regarding tips on fund raising. 4.2 The land in front of the Irlam Youth Centre and at the digital board is owned by Children’s Social Services for future reference. 4.3 The Sacred Heart Church maintenance of grounds will be dealt with by SB when Fr. Driscoll becomes available. 4.4 The Wesley Church, Cadishead has people walking on consecrated ground. SB has asked about signage St. John’s. Action: SB/LC will check into this further. 4.5 VC reported that Peel Holdings are now refusing to tackle the problem of the trees at the back of her property causing disruption to TV reception. She is very aggrieved at this and was advised to seek Councillor help. 4.6 The contacts list was circulated for updating. 5.0 PCSO Phil Elliott reports: Four domestic incidents Two Shop Lifting Three Assaults One offensive language One theft on dwelling and one on a motorbike One burglary and one possible drug taking Two pedal cycles stolen and one shed break in One theft of copper wire at a plant involving machinery Thirty one anti social behaviour reports One fire in the park Six disputes Three off road report of bikes Two malicious calls Reports of tampering at the ATMs If you see any suspicious circumstances at the ATMs or people wondering about in gardens please contact the police on Tel no 101 except if it is criminal damage etc when you should ring 999. Please lock your cars at the petrol stations whilst paying for fuel as this is an opportunity that thieves do take advantage of. Please note the police do not attend noise nuisance calls these should be reported to the Environmental Health. 6.0 Irlam highlighted a need for a display of photos and future events., It was decided to purchase a Notice Board and Banner for use at fund raising/promotion events It was proposed that we apply to the LAP for funds to cover the cost of above. Seconded by CW. Action: RS/GC 7.0 The photo on the face book page shows a beautifully maintained garden on Bedford Road, Cadishead. It has received positive comments and it was proposed to give a £20 voucher and a garden diary as a token gesture of appreciation for the maintenance of the surrounding area. Seconded by (JC). Action: RS 8.0 Progress on the bench at Fairhills Road. SB has been in contact with Matthew Mollart, Urban Vision who gave details of prices of a bench and fixings costs and cost of supervision and advised getting in touch with Social Services to see if permission is required to fit a bench and if there will be future maintenance costs for the Association to upkeep. RS proposed that we dispense with following up the purchases of a bench as this could be costly and funding of such could be difficult. The vote against funding a bench was unanimous. No further action. 9.0 A possible coffee morning was discussed and it was decided SB seek further advice from Dennis Parr concerning fund raising and SB should query further details with The Railway pub as CW has learnt that the White Horse are no longer available. The Railway will furnish more details of costs if required. Possible times of the function: 10 – 12 noon or 11 to 1pm. Maybe half term as a likely date. Check up who supplies cups and saucers etc. In favour of publicity - V and JC. Action: SB 10.0 LC will report on future fund raiser at Cadishead Conservative Club. Post pone any decision on charity until we know more about this. Action: LC 11.0 Any Other Business; Report on possible future events for the next six months at the next meeting. 11.1 Save our Greenbelt – there will be a meeting at 7.30pm Catholic Club Irlam on 9th September, 2013.
