Misogynistic men in the Islamic community. I don’t generally - TopicsExpress

Misogynistic men in the Islamic community. I don’t generally like talking about my views regarding Islamic topics because people tend to get upset but I think its time to break some of those rules and say it how it is. Recently i’ve noticed an uprise in misogynistic men in the Islamic community. Men who think its their right to tell a woman how to act, how to dress etc. And they do it all under the impression that they’re giving “dawah” and using religion to justify their misogynistic interpretations. Dawah isn’t forcing facts down someones throat, dawah isn’t attacking a specific gender with your hatred and last but not least dawah is not YOU forcing YOUR opinions on someone. Whens the last time you saw a Muslim woman tell a man how to act? Honestly I don’t even think it’s ever happened, because most women know that in Islam you can’t force your views on to someone, they know that in Islam you have to be gentle and kind. My point isn’t to attack muslim men but its to make people realise that misogyny in the Muslim community DOES exist. It’s something we should all be fighting against, men, women, all of us. It’s something that affects us all and its something that will continue to affect us if we don’t try to put a stop to it. I am an outspoken muslim woman and I like it.
