Mom always taught us to be kind, to help and to see the need in others. Throughout, all of our lives, she showed us compassion, understanding, civility and community. Those are the premises she lived by and I know in her heart, she feels them today. Although her memory suffers greatly, kindness and respect live through her. Even still, there is not a day or moment where the words Thank you are missed. She does not belittle people, rant or rave or project her thoughts to influence any of us. She was an avid reader, loved facts and one of the hardest things I have done, to date, is cancel her Literary Guild membership that she possessed since 1938. It is by examples, of compassion, education and understanding that she shines and changes minds. Her mother, our Nana, was her hero and ours. The kindest of kind, the purest of pure and love personified. Mom had no enemies, only friends. Regardless of differences, Mom always found common ground and kept her allegiance to her family, friends and beliefs. Her friends are many, some dating back 82 years, spats were resolved and love won out, every time. Her faith in the Lord was strong and still strong today. Although she cannot read, does not mean her understanding suffers. It does not. We, as her children, can only hope and pray that our level of understanding and humanity is like hers. Honest, level, inspired and always looking toward solution, not judgement. Laughter was Moms trademark, badge of honor that she wore. Her view of the World was all about the beauty, the similarities, the differences and the wonderful mix of people that comprise this beautiful planet. Love you Mom.
