Mom and I went out the Overland Park Arboretum recently to see the Train Garden where they have a G-scale of 1920s old town Overland Park! The Vintage House, as well as the two historic homes next to us to the west, is part of the display! We were so thrilled to see our little house...and the other two...as part of the incredible depiction of how Overland Park looked in 1920! The three houses are historically called the Three Sisters. As the story goes, when the founder of Overland Park, William Strang, brought the railroad from downtown Kansas City out to the countryside, where old downtown Overland Park is now standing, he enticed his employees to work and live there by offering them a plot of land for $75.00 to build a home...the Three Sisters are these homes. It is really a treasure, and is something to see!
