The US has its black and Hispanic populations. Latin America, its indigenous indian populations. Australia, its aboriginal populations. But China, Korea and Japan are not so mixed in their populations. Europe, to include the Scandinavian countries, and the former USSR defines the average, but many such areas, like Canada, have climate, population and terrain issues making their prospect for hegemony or hedemonic participation more difficult. Hong Kong-China, Shanghai-China and Singapore (75% Chinese) are the developmental proto-types for China at large. 1) Shanghai, 2) Singapore and 3) Hong Kong have the top math, reading and science test scores by country, worldwide, in that order, followed by Twain, Korea and Japan. Seoul, Korea has the highest number of PhDs per capita. We will be massively on the short end of the stick in the future, as this map and these scores indicate. We need only look at how far China has come and how fast, to see this developing reality. China ascends. The USA fades. We should not kid ourselves, nor ignore these unpleasant realities. We need to adjust to the prospects much better. Typical US belligerency will not do for the future.
