More idiots on stages Sad to report some mindless spectator behaviour from Saturdays Speyside Stages, Round 6 of the MSA Scottish Rally Championship. Problems occurred near the start of Stage 8, Findlays Seat, with reports of items being placed on the track. There were also problems on Stage 2 Knock More. Clerk of the Course Neil Shanks posted this comment on his Facebook page: Thanks also to 99.9% of spectators who listened to the marshals, didnt stand in dangerous places and generally behaved. Absolutely no thanks to the brainless morons near the start of SS8 who deliberately threw big rocks, bushes and other crap onto the road on an attempt to damage cars. Investigations are ongoing, and on behalf of the organisers we can only apologise for actions of others outwith our control. Also to the guys who decided to sit on a bench right on the stage edge in SS2 - think on. Why put yourselves and the crews safety and well being at risk for the sake of a Facebook picture?!? Again, mindless stupidity..... The rally was won by David Bogie and Kevin Rae in their Fiesta R5+, with Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton second in a Focus WRC and Jock Armstrong and Paula Swinscoe third in their Lancer Evo 9. The next round of the Championship is the Merrick Stages Rally on September 6.
