Most ladies my age are familiar with the custom/etiquette of a gentleman standing when a lady either approaches or leaves a table on a restaurant. Id be curious as to what the general opinion is of a man who, not only remains seated, but continually beckons the woman to not only approach but come close enough to lean over so that he might say whatever it might be he wants to say. My personal opinion is that, unless that man is in a wheelchair or otherwise debilitated, hes not even man...much less a gentleman. I sure miss CHIVALRY!!
