Most of my life, people have been uncomfortable with me. I am unapologetically ambitious. I am proud of who I am. People have always asked me to play smaller. To tone it down. To not rock the boat. To be less confrontational. People are constantly embarrassed by my lack of concern about societal conventions. People who disagree with the way I live my life, with who I am, with the decisions Ive made, the choice to focus on my ambition rather than having a family, have mocked me, harassed me, threatened to rape and kill me. But if I did what other people wanted me to do, when I KNOW that I know better what I want from my life, I wouldnt be able to look myself in the mirror. So I learned not to be concerned with other peoples opinions. Because what they thought about me, never matched what I knew about myself. I know why I was put on Earth. It wasnt to be a mother. It wasnt to be a wife. It wasnt to be an employee. It wasnt to sit down and be quiet. It wasnt to just be happy. Its to create real and lasting change. I cant do that and make other people happy. I cant do that and make other people comfortable. So I just do what I know is right for me. And if people want to come along for the ride, awesome. And if its too much for them, thats cool too. But thats all on them. Im just being true to me and my destiny. I dont know how to do anything else.
