Most of peoples misunderstanding regarding inclusion can be easily - TopicsExpress

Most of peoples misunderstanding regarding inclusion can be easily addressed if we understand that there are two specific stories happening in the gospel. We fall prey to misunderstanding when we wrongly interpret the story being told. there is the story of what Christ has offered them that believe - this is the Christian story. The christian story tells us what we ought to be doing to live our lives as followers of Jesus. It includes belief, but it focuses mostly on care for the outcast - i.e. how we treat the victim - whether that be the poor, the starving, the outcast (the abused man in the parable of the good samaritan). Then there is the story of what Christ has done TO the whole world - this is the inclusion story. The inclusion story tells us that through one mans righteous act, all are made righteous. It tells us that (according to Paul) christ is in all, and through all and that God is the savior of all men. Both stories have equal validity. Both are powerful love stories, and both are true. Without the story of inclusion, there is no Christianity, and without Christianity the story of inclusion falls by the wayside because there is no one to teach it. The two stories need each other. There is no gospel of inclusion. Why? Because the Gospel IS inclusion.
