Most of yall have seen the classic photo of Noah Smithwick, which I have posted on one or two occasions and am reposting here. Noah wrote the wonderful book, Evolution of a State, or Recollections of Old Texas Days, which was published in 1891. Smithwick knew William Travis and Jim Bowie personally and the book is an account of his life in Texas before and after independence from Mexico. ANYWAY, Noahs descendent, Joe Michael Smithwick, sent in this photo of himself. Id say that the family resemblance, even through all those generations, is pretty astounding. Them is some strong genes! Joe Michael lives in Waxahachie. Thanks for sharing this with us! Its great to see that the Smithwicks are still running around the countryside hereabouts!
