Mouth full of crow, President Obama offered what seems like a reasonable compromise to mitigate the impact of individual policy cancellations. But as anyone who has had one of these individual policies knows, the great majority of them are what is referred to as mirage insurance: bullshit coverage, perennially escalating premiums, and no-recourse unilateral rescission by the insurers when the insured gets sick. Letting individuals stick with this bogus coverage for another year will at least give them time to explore cheaper plans under the ACA, with real insurance coverage.
