I was also the founding Chief Organizer of PTI Balochistan and contested general elections in 1997 from NA 197 (Quetta/Chagai Constituency) on a PTI ticket. I remained Central Information Secretary of PTI from March 2000 to August 2007 and also held the position of Central Vice President of PTI from July 2011 until September 2011. For the last 3 years I am leading a campaign against corruption within PTI by demanding transparency and accountability. The on-going campaign for internal PTI reform has generated conflicts within the party which has the potential of exposing the alleged corruption and other criminal activities of individuals who wield considerable power in PTI. On November 14, 2014, I filed a petition with the Election Commission of Pakistan against alleged corruption and violation of relevant laws regarding PTI finances. On the midnight of November 18, 2014, I received the following four visitors at my residence in Islamabad, all members and/or PTI employees: 1. Mr. M… R…., PTI Employee - Cell No: 0333-…-…. 2. Mr. V…., PTI Employee – Cell No: 0332-…-…. - Witness 3. Mr. J..... M..., PTI Member – Cell No: 0301-…-…. - Witness 4. Mr. Y..... N..... K...., PTI Member – Cell No: 0300-…-…. -Witness Mr. R…. who is a personally trusted employee of Imran Khan conveyed the potential threat to my life from unspecified sources if I continue to pursue the campaign for transparency and accountability within PTI. He repeatedly warned me that some criminal elements within PTI can resort to any measure including grievous physical harm in case I persist with the accountability drive. I am writing this letter with a copy to the I.G., Police ICT with the request to instruct relevant authorities to investigate the matter and provide personal security. With best regards, Akbar S.
