MultiChoice opens up premium channel Zambia has opened up its premium channels accessible from its digital satellite television (DSTv) network to all bouquet packages under what is dubbed ‘Open weekend’. This means that subscribers with a lower number of channels for lesser subscription fees will access more channels from premium channels with higher subscription rates. The satellite television company is running the ‘open weekend’ from July 19 to 21, 2013. This is contained in a statement availed to the Weekend Mail in Lusaka. “We are opening up a selection of our premium channels for one weekend…for two full days, DSTv will make a selection of channels from its DSTv premium bouquet,” it stated. The premium channels will be available to Access, Family and Compact bouquet subscribers. The channels include Super Sport, Discovery, MTV, BBC and Comedy Central. Others are Africa Magic, Fox, Big Brother, among other global television brands. “We urge viewers to get a taste of the boldest, widest, most comprehensive line-up of channels and programmes available in Africa today [Friday], July 19 at 16:00 hours Central African Time (CAT) to July 21,” the statement reads.
