Music from The Elder was realeased 16th November 1981. This is one of the most controversial releases. The first album to feature Eric Carr on drums, saw KISS change their image and sound. Shorter hair, subdued costumes, no platforms and this was a Concept album based on a story of Gene Simmons about a young boy chosen by an ancient race called The Elders to be the new leader for all that is right. Many fans were confused by this album especially as alot of the younger fans came on board because of the pop oriented albums Dynasty and Unmasked. KISS never toured on this album and it was the last to feature Ace Frehley until the reunion album Psycho Circus in 1998.
