My Indian friends all protest about Gaza. Yes it is truly terrible. The Israeli people got out of Gaza over seven years ago. Every single Jewish person was forcibly removed. (by the Israeli government). Which was a good start. Then they held elections and this government won in a landslide victory. From that day they have pushed for a violent end to the State of Israel. However, the PA Palestinian Authority led by Abbas lead the Palestinians in the Hebron region with an entirely different kind of leadership. Two groups of Palestinian people, two same civilians, two different political leaders. One wants a violent and bloody end to Israel and the other is not interested in one more second of violence and wants to build Hebron into a viable nation state, already partially accepted as a voting partner in the UN. So let me ask you, why is the whole world supporting President Abbas and his Palestinian people, and why is the whole world not convinced that Hamas is the right way to do business. Why would Israel wake up one morning and decide to send their own children into fight a bloody war? Why. Do you think Israel just hates for no reason? Why did they not take on Abbas, or Lebanon, or Syria? They certainly have the military capacity to. Why does Israel not fight with Jordan, Syria, Eygpt or Lebanon, all Arab nations, all Muslim people. There is only peace and trade with all the neighbouring nations. Not perfect harmony, but not bloody war and death. So, ask yourself, why, would any small but well armed nation suddenly decide one sunny day in July to do this. Do you think they are just keen to go to war. The only other time in recent history they have faught an enemy was when Hizbolah took control of Southern Lebanon. The Lebanese people have a long and exhaustive history with war. First they were at war with Syria forever, then with Israel, and they too had a very distinct and difficult battle with Palestinians. Israel went in not to destroy Lebanon, again, that time in history was thankfully well over. But they went to the borders to destroy Hizbollah. If Hizbollah and Hamas were determined to take over the borders of India, and were funded and armed and perfectly capable, and were sending anti Hindu messages to the entire world, destoying your history and sending 3000 rockets close to New Delhi, would you be a) afraid for your own life and your loved ones, b) glad if your government deployed your army to protect the people and c) would you stand firm that India should not give in to Hezbollah and Hamas and similiar organisations.
