My Mom is a Survivor, Keep her Strong My mom is a survivor, I have heard it said. But I can hear her crying, When others are in bed. I watch her lay awake at night And go to hold her hand. She knows I am here, But its hard for her to understand. Like the sand on the beach That never washes away. I watch over my surviving mom Who thinks of me each day. She wears a smile for others A smile meant to disguise. Through Heaven’s door I see the tears Flowing from her eyes . My mom tries to cope with death And keeps my memory alive. But anyone that knows her, Knows its her way to survive. As I watch over my surviving mom Through heaven’s open door. I try to let her know The angel ‘s will protect me even more . I know it doesnt help her Or ease the burden she bears. So if you get a chance, Go visit her and let her know you care. No matter what she says. No matter how she feels My surviving mom has a pain, That will never heal. So everyone who loves Colton And misses him so Take a minute of your day And pick up the phone.
