My New Year BLOG: Kingdom Building I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions because I haven’t been able to keep one yet, and all it does is discourage me when I fail the first time. So on the first of every year, I pray to the Lord that He will remain patient with me and continue to teach me to be more like Him. In this I will not fail because He desires that and through His power, it can be accomplished. There are no failures in Him. This world is changing. It is not a gentle place. Not sure it ever was, but I am more aware now that it is not. The only way I can personally navigate through it, is to keep my eyes on Jesus and the Kingdom He is building each day in the lives of His people. There is a Master Plan and He is the architect. Nothing that is happening in this world is unknown to Him. He has his hand on EVERYTHING. In THAT, you can be assured. Whether good or bad, I believe ALL things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to HIS purpose. It is good to be informed on all the news of the day for many reasons; but I resolve to commit the happenings to my Lord and Savior; to move on and do something positive; to work with that which I DO have control over. This old world is crumbling day by day, but the promises God has for a new Heaven and new Earth remain. So, I must press on and focus my efforts on being a vessel for God to work through to build His Kingdom that is to come. A kingdom with no crying, no injustice, no brutality, no torture, no political corruption, no disregard for human life, no economic crisis, no racial or ethnic divides and no death and destruction. All those atrocities will pass away. THIS new kingdom is the promise that God makes to His children who love and follow Him. Can you imagine living eternity in a place of peace, safety and love? A place without all the heartbreak? A place without hospitals and morgues. A place with police stations and war zones. A place where EVERYONE, no matter what their color or ethnic background can come together and worship God and abide in peace. This is not just an “IMAGINE” dream. This WILL BE reality one day when God returns for His church and takes us out of this world of sin to His wonderful eternal Kingdom. I long for that transition, but until then, I want to be a vessel for Him to use to spread His message of hope to a lost world. This world is not your last stop. It is but a training ground for eternity, to equip us for the world to come. Are you ready to be a part of God’s eternal family? Will you be ready to meet Him whenever He calls you home? There is NO greater decision you will ever make about anything in your life. There is a God and His name is Jesus. He alone has the power to save. Maybe people who don’t believe this have convinced you this is not true; or it is not that important. What if they are wrong? What if God IS right? What if His prophesies about His Kingdom ARE true? What do you have to lose? The answer to THAT is profound. As we begin a new year, think deeply about it. John 3:36: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for Gods wrath remains on them.”
