My awesome Sister-in-law shared this post today and it perfectly emulates what an incredible person my Father-in-law is. These are her words that perfectly reflect mine as well as many others feelings: As my father-in-laws time on this earth grows shorter and shorter, Im caused to reflect on the wonderful life he has lived. I remember when he was given 6 months left to live, (6 months that turned into almost 2 years) he decided to stop treatments and just enjoy time with family. Trips were then planned and taken - Hawaii, New York, A 2 week cruise through Panama, his mission, Florida, and last but not least, Lake Powell. He also set out to future proof his house - knocking down walls, putting up walls, re-doing the floors and the roof, finishing up the driveway, closing in the boat shed. Hes been able to be apart of the temple marriages of 3 out of his 4 children, and a participant in the baby blessing of his first grandchild. In the 2 and a half years I have known Bryan Maughan, he certainly has LIVED. He loves and cherishes his family and friends. He keeps us laughing with his great sense of humor and he keeps us in check with his determined/slightly stubborn personality . Whatever time we have left with him, whatever the Lord chooses to allow, will undoubtedly be a time to remember him (and for an eternity after as well). Thanks for showing us how to really live, Bry!
