My correspondence with the Capitol Police in my first attempt at - TopicsExpress

My correspondence with the Capitol Police in my first attempt at following their new rules -- they settled in the ACLU lawsuit to avoid having their permitting rules (under which they arrested hundreds including me... most still in the courts including mine) declared unconstitutional. Now we are not required to get a permit for 20 or more, but are required to give advanced notification for 12 or more, and do not need permission (although of course they dont want us to interfere with a permitted event which of course I wouldnt anyway): ---------------------------- From: Kimi Ishikawa Sent: Monday, October 21, 2013 8:51 PM To: State CapitolPolice Subject: Advance notification Dear Capitol Police, I plan to come to the Capitol when you are open this week and next at any time during regular hours to petition the government for redress of my grievances. I will come alone, as usual, but I am giving you this advance notification in case more than 11 other people are there at the same time I am and you confuse us with a group. If I sing or speak it will most likely be in the rotunda on the ground or first floors. You can contact me here if you need to. Kimi ---------------- From State CapitolPolice To Me Oct 22 at 12:31 PM Kimi The dates I have open are Oct 29, 30, 31 and Nov 1 Susan Barica Wisconsin Capitol Police Rm B2 North State Capitol Madison, WI 53702 608-266-7840 --------------------- On Tuesday, October 22, 2013 1:08 PM, State CapitolPolice wrote: Thank you I have received your notification I do have notifications for Mon, Tues, Wed and Friday I do have a permit for Thurs Susan Barica Wisconsin Capitol Police Rm B2 North State Capitol Madison, WI 53702 608-266-7840 --------------------- To State CapitolPolice Thank you Ms. Barica. I assume that the information about your M,T,W,F notifications is just an FYI and doesnt have any implication for my notifications. Please let me know if I was supposed to interpret that otherwise. I am also guessing that these days refer to this week. Re: The permit on Thursday: What is the time and location of that permitted event? Is there an area that the conductor has requested exclusive use of? If so, what are the boundaries of that area? I take it this is referring to 10/24? Im not sure what your previous message means, as you didnt mention any conflict for the dates that you did not list (Saturday 10/26, Sunday 10/27, Monday 10/28, Saturday 11/2). But in any case, it sounds as though my notification does not have any conflicts except for the time frame and location of the permitted event on 10/24. Solidarity! Power to public workers! Kimi
