My eye is still twitching, my arms are sore, my throat doesnt feel that great but as I think back on the past few weeks my heart cannot be more full or joyful. Along with a few friends, I volunteered to help translate and take care of 14 children who flew in from Haiti to receive heart surgery at Severance and Samsung Hospital. The Korean government covers entire heart surgery costs for a number of people each year and so these Haitian kids were fully covered. However, the plane tickets, food, accomodation for after leaving the hospital were all covered and organized by the biggest Christian celebrity community called GIL (God Is Love) Ministry. There are so many celebrities who are on fire for the Lord, always praying for this nation, and do whatever they can to help those in need despite the hate and judgement they get from the crowd. Not only did we get to meet these amazing and humble people, but I learned SO much. I learned how selfish I am, how weak our flesh is, how conflicting relationships can be. I learned that there are so many flaws in Man, but I also learned that there is no other answer or hope to life other than Christ Jesus. I learned yet again how powerful the Cross is and how radical His grace is. I experienced the raw love of Christ during a feet-washing ceremony we held and how in the end thats all that really matters. The 14 children did nothing to deserve this and received numerous expensive gifts that were in someways quite uncomfortable to accept. Some people would say material aid is toxic and doesnt help, but the heart of those who gave was way more expensive, precious, and priceless. They really manifested the incomprehensible heart of God that is always willing to pour out His blessings in abundance. We are all made beautifully in the image of His glory. What is sickness, what is physical appearance, what is hardship when He calls us beautiful, wonderful, victorious, pure, and bought with the blood of Christ? 형제의 모습 속에 보이는 하나님 형상 아름다워라 존귀한 주의 자녀 됐으니 사랑하며 섬기리 How beautiful is the image of God That we see in you You are now His precious child We will serve and love you I want to thank all those who prayed for us and it is my joy that all 14 children are on their way back to Haiti in healthy and recovering conditions. Some of these children were told that they wouldnt make it past their 2nd birthday. One girl almost got rejected for surgery because her condition was so severe. But, praise the Lord, all went well. It is our prayer that these children and their parents will give all the glory to God and raise their children to give back the blessings they received to those in need in Haiti and other nations. May His grace keep them and His love protect them ♥ I love you Antoine, Dessources, Esther, Sammy, Dave, Sada, Nocky, Gamael, Soraya, Carme Suze, Marie, Shelove, Toto, and Sherween!
