My family heritage includes cattle and beef culture, here in California; whereas, Im also part Piemontese. So, Ive been well aware of the issue for sometime. The industry has changed tremendously in the USA, as much as it has in Italy. Nowadays, I can buy Piedmontese breed beef here in the USA, thats raised in Nebraska; however, the challenges in the livestock and food industry are still of major concern, much like everything else in the food and agriculture business. Whether its beef, wine, chocolate or some other food, it doesnt seem to matter if its so much here or there that we not only have to protect the heritage, but its ecology, economy, integrity and so on. Its a delicate balance of sorts.
