My father thinks this ancient building in Troutbeck and one or two others there too, goes back to at least the 1600s, it was still part of a working farm when we were there. We used to rent an old house for our holidays many years ago - one had to bring over the water across from a roadside well/stone trough every morning, supplied by springs from the fells above. Some of the furniture was dated to the Elizabeth 1st times - no kidding. Wonder how it is now???? He did this pencil sketch many years ago in ordinary black and white pencil it seems to fit in nicely with the atmosphere….
