My favorite quote recently is "God loves your sheep more than you do." I find this reassuring, but I have trouble with the idea the we are owned by our shepherds. We have free will, we have a life, and we have likes and dislikes. I tend to think we have a mutually beneficial contract with our shepherds. We sheep offer goods, in exchange for goods and services supplied by the shepherd. If I was to be owned, it would be by my creator, and the shepherd, he is a helper of sorts.
