My first 2015 update, and its a little odd! I have spent all my birding hours so far this year either on the Lake Erie waterfront, or closeby on the Cuyahoga River, and therefore my list lacks a lot of ordinary things that Im sure you all have by now, but includes some birds that Id be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. For instance, I have Hoary Redpoll, but I dont have American Goldfinch. Ive seen Bald Eagles, Northern Harrier and Snowy Owls, but Ive yet to see a Red-tailed or Red-shouldered Hawk. I have Thayers, Glaucous, Kumliens, Bonapartes, Lesser and Great Black-backed Gulls, but have yet to see a Black-capped Chickadee, Blue Jay or American Crow. Even so, Im sitting at 40 for the year, and all I need is a trip inland to bump up those numbers. Maybe tomorrow! Heres a few highlights from this year thus far:
