My first ever solo single with Tony Banks from Genesis .Meeting up - TopicsExpress

My first ever solo single with Tony Banks from Genesis .Meeting up was a nervous affair and I felt like I was with a music teacher when I went through to his music room in his house. I can remember the original artwork for Selling England in the hallway and going knee trembling fan like! :-) When he said it was a song for a film about bikes I took it for granted it was about motorbikes, never thinking there could ever be a film about bicycle couriers! :-) And so lyric was duly written in ambiguous fashion and we put it together down at the bands studio. Cue the obligatory video and bikes had to be involved. The theme that was suggested was the Raindrops keep Falling on My Head sequence from the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie. Great! :-) Kent, mid Summer , a scorching day in an orchard and I was worse for wear from the night before! I really was that knackered, it wasnt acting! A lunch in the pub didnt help and both Tony and Myself perhaps had one over the odds and would never have passed a breathalyser! :-) The look at the end was definitely a thank God thats over! moment! One of my proudest moments was hearing Phil Collins sing it on stage at Madison Square Gardens with Genesis. Phil struggled with it too ! :-) https://youtube/watch?v=M5y7LtKGYLM
