My great grandfather had his Dartmouth education split by the Civil War, just as Larry Smith here had HIS Dartmouth education split by World War 2. Larry entered as a freshman in 1945, and stayed in Hanover one week before joining the Navy. Technically a member of the class of 1949, Larry graduated in the early fifties. This was Larry`s team of driving horses yesterday in So Pines. He gets lessons from his neighbor, Wiebe Dragstra. These horses are a cross, I believe, between Friesans and Arabians.
