My home is run like a well organized daycare for the furry. Mandatory naps..... Dogs with appropriate play styles matched together for romp sessions. Quieter dogs given some solitary time to chew toys while others are walked. There is quite a bit if rotation so not all the dogs are out and getting overly stimulated at the same time. The exception to that rule is in the evening for a few hours before bed. All the dogs are out loose in the house and none are crated during this time. As we speak safari is groveling to steal a nylabone from my resident pug. She is a dog I can put with anyone and she has perfect play manners. She has been with the pack for so long that he actually helps the newbies fit in and learn the routine. Prozac and daisy the pug are curled up together on the couch. Daisy uses everyone as a pillow and thinks of the other dogs as her staff. My old man resident and my oldest foster lay nuzzled together on my one and only dog bed. I am pretty sure star and savanna are trying to figure our trying to figure out how exactly they can team up to eat my zucchini bread off the counter. My rottie, michael, is licking the inside of Grovers mouth (ewwww), the spitz is under the sofa where she always goes to avoid the pack, and Leo paces back and forth trying to figure out how to come sit next to me without walking past my friend Kurt. Rosie prefers to go to bed early unless her best pal, Prozac wants to play. Hmmm...loud clang in the kitchen...better check that out. Ok. False alarm. Just a dog playing soccer with the water bowl.
