My mother has reached a point in her Alzheimers where she can no - TopicsExpress

My mother has reached a point in her Alzheimers where she can no longer walk or stand on her own. Her cognitive abilities to understand her surroundings, to fully recognize those present, and to communicate even such things as her level of physical pain have diminished almost entirely. She spends almost the entirety of each day in a specialized reclining type of medical chair with little or no interest or ability to participate in any activities to occupy her mind. I have to go to work each day, and leave her care in the very capable hands of my wife, Barbara. Many of you know Barbs problems in her back and legs and the chronic pain issues she deals with on a daily and hourly basis. It is an incredibly difficult task that she faces every day to care so compassionately and excellently for Mama Joyce, but somehow, with Gods strength, she accomplishes her wonderful work. And so, when I ask you all so frequently and fervently for prayer, I do not do so lightly or carelessly. We are waiting for confirmation from Medicaid to be able to place Mom in a good place where she is safe and well provided with care that we do not have the capacity to continually and effectively give her. I ask you to help us to pray that this process will happen in an expedient and efficient manner and for the doors of an excellent facility to open to us soon. Frankly, were all extremely exhausted, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Thank you all, with love and regards...
