My response to why we are protesting in #Ferguson for #MikeBrown vs protesting against daily, black on black crime: I believe the reason why you dont see the same type of outcry is because we are too busy trying to create necessary programming such as mentorship, college prep, artistic development and creating jobs to protest against the black on black murders. Protesting in the form of marches and civil disobedience just doesnt work for this issue. Protesting for inequalities in systematic forces require a different type of outcry, such as civil disobedience. I know how hard that work is because I work in the community, as a profession. Its my JOB to keep these young folks protected and educated at my center or they maybe the ones resorting to violence.
