My son Michael works as a Chef... I cant believe how much I see... as youre lookin back at me... now I understand what love is... I look at my son now... I really dont know how to describe it... its like the feeling of surprise/dismay... bewilderment/wonderment maybe in a weird kinda way... I dunno... ha, ha. He has his own faith in God his own relationship with our heavenly father... there are so many things I take a step back to notice... hes always believed guess I kinda jump started him in that direction without realizing he was paying attention all these years lol... Im so proud of him when I see him I see me... so many things I never saw in him as a child as he was inward and to himself as a child... Michael came to work for me at the age of 13 I was that age when I started working only fair. Of course Matthew was 12 when he came to work. At that time I had opened Shellys Grill, Shelly Beans Concession Italian Sausage Trailer and the Hershey Ice Cream booth at one of the Jeffersonville Outlet Malls. He and his brother Matt became proficient in all three Units and in every position. They could man the restaurant and/or concession booths with only the help of one other employee. All menu items were made from scratch they learned to get up early in the morning long before we opend to follow precise recipes and prep each place... never looked at it as early training grounds for both boys... boot camp... :) His Grandmother would have raised the edges of the crust with her fingers... mike is in the production mode as he makes a quick crust from scratch... He was asked to make the bottom of the pumpkin pie crust doughy seems to go better with the mix of textures and flavors... the whip cream was spooned on top then the swirl motion was done with a fork... Of course you have the banana cream pie and coconut cream pie crusts flaky.... We made 5 pies and a 5# loaf pan of sage dressing all in a nights work, HA!
