My son Shepard who is 10 years old asked me a very important question. One that totally caught me off guard and unprepared for. One that I will remember for the rest of my life and the mere thought of his question gives me happy tingles in my heart. With his simple question, Mom, will you be my first date and go out on a date with me? All time stopped. The many projects I was in the middle of stopped. I couldnt hear the television in the background or my 3 year olds demands. All I heard at that moment was that I was THAT special to someone who means the world to me. Despite his twin brother giggling at his question, he took my hand and said with a smile, Im serious Mom. I want to take you to dinner and a movie or whatever you want to do. Our date is scheduled Wednesday 8/13 and Ive never been more excited about a date. I have butterflies and cant wait to be my sons first date. I will certainly have pictures taken so this can live forever in our memory books.
