My son,if thou wilt receive my words,and hide(reserve) my commandments("body of laws" given by divine revelation.) with thee; So that thou incline(to prick up the ears;hearken) thine ear unto wisdom,and apply(turn) thine heart to understanding; Yea,if thou criest(call out) after knowledge,and liftest(to "give") up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her(wisdom) as silver(money),and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear(reverence) of the Lord,and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom:out of his mouth(utterance;order;command) cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:1-6
